What’s included in the Initial CPC?
The Drivers CPC Initial qualification.
The driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) initial qualification has 4 parts:
Part 1: Theory test for bus and lorry drivers
This is made up of 2 parts multiple choice and hazard perception. To be honest it doesn’t matter which part you take first but it’s very important that you pass both within 2 years of each other to obtain your theory test certificate. Don’t worry at CPCtraining.com we have more knowledge than we know what to do with in regards to CPC so feel free to contact us for further advice or information.
When you pass your theory tests you will receive a letter with the results for the part of the theory test you have just taken …. EXCITING EH?!
And when you pass both parts (DOUBLE EXCITEMENT) you will be sent a theory test certificate with your theory test number on it. You will need your test number to book your practical test.
Remember and this is important, if you don’t take your practical test within 2 years of passing the first part of the test, you will have to retake that part again so make sure you complete the practical before then guys & girls.
Part 2: Driver CPC case studies test
This is a computer-based exercise with 7 studies based on real life situations for example what & how you would handle driving in icy conditions. Obviously very important before you drive an HGV vehicle.
Part 3: Driving ability Test
This is a practical test that will take about 90 minutes which will focus on vehicle safety questions, practical road driving and off-road exercises. After you have taken the practical test one of our examiners will tell you how you did and if you passed or not but you’re in safe hands with us at CPCtraining.com.
Part 4: Driver CPC practical demonstration test
Last but definitely not least this test will take around 30 minutes and is hugely important. It will focus on how to keep your vehicle safe and secure focused around loading so very important
