So, here at CPC Training head office, we have decided to keep you HGV Drivers up to date with all the new EU rules & regulations regarding CPC training which could affect you in your day to day job as an HGV driver.
This week’s subject is…
HGV Driver shortage
There are currently over 45,000 vacancies in the HGV industry alone as quoted this year by the road haulage association, compared to last year when it was estimated that there were around 30,000 vacancies and guess what if the crisis ( and that’s what they are calling it ) continues there will be 64,000 vacancies by 2018.
What does that mean to you?
Basically, it means that if you are thinking of becoming an HGV driver and changing careers then there isn’t a shortage of jobs which is a massive bonus to you. What it also means is when it comes to choosing a career in the HGV industry then there are choices and A LOT of them i.e.

Depending on your personal circumstances depends on what role you could apply for. The only thing stopping you from applying for this role or should I say working for financial gain is your CPC qualification. Every driver that wants to work in the HGV industry for financial gain, basically receives an income must have some type of CPC.
